Dog Training

We offer individualized, one-on-one pet dog training services. We focus on using positive, rewards-based methods to help improve the relationship between you and your canine companion. Training can be a wonderful experience for both, you and your four-legged friend, and we will help guide you through it.

Each new dog training client starts off with an initial consultation. This initial consultation allows us to gather information about your dog and go into detail about why they may be behaving the way that they are. We look at reasonings behind the behavior, not just the behavior itself, in order to provide long-lasting dog training plans. In the initial consultation, we may go over some management techniques and some small training steps. After the initial consultation, we will write the dog training plan, and in the follow-up visits, we will help you implement them in your own home.

I do not offer a results guarantee, as dog's are individuals, not robots. In some cases, it may be medical, and that particular behavior may not be able to be fully trained out, but training will help with reducing wrong behaviors, while increasing good behaviors. I will, always, be available for questions or concerns. I encourage clients to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Why choose us?

  • Scientific based methods: We use positive reinforcement, force-free based methods that are proven have long lasting results. Dogs learn all throughout their life, and they communicate their needs differently than us. We will help you and your dog understand each other better to help figure out how to promote a happier home experience for you and your companion.

  • Support for the life of your dog: We strive to help you and your canine companion. We care for both you and your pup's well-being. We encourage you to reach out with questions and concerns. We would be happy to help, especially if things aren't going the way you have hoped!

  • Convenience: We come to you on your time. No weird drop off or pick up times, and no weird class times. You get to choose when you want us to come over, as long as there is nobody ahead of you for that time slot.

  • Fun: We strive to make dog training fun for both you and your pup! If you are not having fun, your doggo might not be either. This, also, helps the canine-human bond.

Training Methodology

  • Patience: Dog training takes time. There are no quick, long term results. Quick methods, typically, suppress behavior, and in the long run, may come back or get worse. So, patience is key, along with lots of practice. Each dog is an individual, some may take longer than others to grasp a concept. We work to find what works best for you and your pup, which may require a little bit of trial amd error.

  • Consistency: In order for dog training to be most effective, consistency is key. Dogs tend to make associations in learning. Following the training plan is a must to provide those consistencies. Dogs often do what works for them, and they may need time to form the correct associations, whether it be not jumping up on things or walking calmly beside you. Without consistencies, they are unable to fully grasp new concepts and training may take longer.

  • Tools: We do not use any harmful tools, like prong, choke, shock, or E-collars. These can hinder your relationship with your dog and can cause worse reactivity and aggression. These tools will not be used when we are training and should be avoided. If you have used these in the past, we would still be happy to work with you, as long as you understand that going forward, we will not be using these tools. We recommend getting a harness for walking, in order to get the pressure off the neck, especially for dogs that pull. Clients would need to get a harness that fits their specific dog. Those specific harnesses can be discussed at the initial consultation, as well.

  • Ready to Learn Attitude: As the client, you should come with an open mind that is ready to learn about dog behavior and why their dog is behaving the way that they are. Clients should remain optimistic and ready to try different techniques if one doesn't work as well for their dog. Please remember, they are individuals and have their own likes and dislikes, just like us.

  • Communication: Please be honest and up front about your situation and how your dog behaves. The sooner I can get all the information, the sooner we can form a more effective training plan to suit your dog's needs and wants.
